Stojkovic and his team have proposed a theory for a model of the early universe which suggests that as the universe began and expanded, it actually added dimensions. In this model, the universe Author: Alex Knapp.   Good questions. The straight answer is that the universe doesn't expand into anything. There is no space "out there" for it to expand into. What the cosmic expansion does is stretch space itself, as if space were made of some kind of stretchy rubber material. There is no physical border out here, only stretching space.

The universe (Latin: universus) is all of space and time and their contents, including planets, stars, galaxies, and all other forms of matter and the spatial size of the entire universe is unknown, it is possible to measure the size of the observable universe, which is currently estimated to be 93 billion light-years in diameter. In various multiverse hypotheses, a universe Diameter: Unknown. Diameter of the observable . First question: does the gravity contrast this expansion? In other words: does the space expand more in the areas with less gravity (i.e. among galaxies) and less in the nearby of stars and planets? If we imagine to place a ruler between two stars, say at 10 ly, it would "extend" over time - even if we will still read 10 ly, right?

First, the universe doesn’t expand at a particular speed, it expands at a speed per distance. Right now it’s about 70 kilometers per second per megaparsec. That means that galaxies that are about 1 megaparsec (1 parsec = 3 lightyears and change) away are presently getting farther away at the rate of 70 km every second, on average. A few quotes from the book: An expanding universe does not preclude a creator, but it does place limits on when He might have carried out his job. We now know that our galaxy is only one of some hundred thousand million that can be seen using modern telescopes, each galaxy itself containing some hundred thousand million stars.

What Does An Expanding Universe Really Mean There is no space "out there" for it to expand into. What the cosmic expansion does is stretch space itself, as if space were made of some kind of. Additional Physical Format: Online version: Abramenko, B. (Borys). Does the universe really expand.

Thun, Switzerland: Harri Deutsch, (OCoLC)   The universe is expanding faster than expected, suggesting that astronomers may have to incorporate some new physics into their theories.

“How does the universe infinitely expand?” The universe is not expanding. However, if one does believe in the “expanding universe” theory, then what you have questioned produces a notable insight Namely, if the whole universe started from a singu. Journal of Modern Physics Vol No(), Article ID,10 pages /jmp Does the Universe Really Expand, Author: Hwei-Jang Yo.

Not Available Does the universe really expand. Latest observations and alternative : B. Abramenko. But exactly what is the universe expanding into.

Nothing, really. In fact, there isn’t any space out there for it to expand into. To understand the expansion of the universe is nothing more than to understand that the cosmic expansion stretches space itself.

Essentially, there is no physical border, because it is infinite. Really how does the entropy of the universe increase. The statement "entropy of the universe increases" is a misconception about thermodynamics.

The problem with that statement, as CuriousOne has written in the comments, is that universe is not a closed system amenable to thermodynamic description. If the universe is expanding at rates in excess of the speed of light, why does it not appear to affect our solar system and the planetary distances from.

No it would not weaken. Above shown is our local group. Our local group of galaxies is a region of space that is gravitationally bound to each other. Dark energy (D.E.) is the reason behind the accelerating expansion of the universe. D.E. has been.

10 mysteries of the universe: Why does anything exist at all. Our best theories predict that all the matter in the universe should have been destroyed as soon as it existed. The theory is that the universe billions year ago was infinitely small but expanded very rapidly after the big bang.

e.g. an expanding universe could 1) expand until it reaches a size. I read something in a book the other day which has gotten me really confused. They were talking about the expansion of the universe, and if I understood it all, they said that the expansion of the universe increases with distance.

I often get asked what an "expanding universe" really means. It's confusing, and for very good reasons. So, if you are perplexed by this, don't feel bad. This book is billed as the Really Really Big Questions and that just about sums it up.

The questions are largely philosophical, although occasionally scientific, and touch on issues such as the origins of life and thought, the nature of morality and the universe, and knowledge.4/4(10). The universe was very hot when it began to expand. We have fossil remnants of the very early universe in the form of neutrons, protons, electrons, and neutrinos, and the atomic nuclei that formed when the universe was 3–4 minutes old: deuterium, helium, and a small amount of lithium.

So up until about 15 years ago, the only answer was momentum. The idea was that the Universe received all the energy it needed for. Don’t really surprise me much. I have been saying for years to my fellow astromers that the “The Universe Is Not Expanding Uniformly” and that. But the universe is no balloon.

What really complicates things is that we are trapped inside. The straight answer is that the universe doesn't expand into anything.

His latest book is The. Big Bang theory holds that our universe began billion years ago, in a massive expansion that blew space up like a balloon.

Here's a brief rundown of. We constructed the sky with our hands, and we will continue to expand it. Whether or not accommodating linking the verse to the concept of expanding universe, all nine translators link the term “ lamūsi‘ūn ” to “expansion,” “space,” “vastness,” and such concepts.Readers looking to expand their knowledge of physics and cosmology will find everything they need here.” This book really opens you up to the magnificence and magnitude of our universe to the point it blows your mind.

It does it in a very accessible way. Absolutely recommend/5(). Maybe Steven Universe is really about Family, and how it's impossible to define it universally. What else, or who else can we call family?
